OpenText Administrator
Overview
This role puts you at the center of the organization’s content and information ecosystem. As the OpenText Administrator, you own the platform that drives how teams create, store, secure, and access documents that keep the business moving. You’re not just maintaining a system, you’re shaping how the company manages knowledge, meets compliance standards, and modernizes its digital workflows. You’ll work across IT, security, legal, and operations to keep a mission‑critical platform running at peak performance while helping the organization evolve toward smarter, more automated content management.
Platform Administration & Maintenance
• Install, configure, and upgrade OpenText Content Server and related modules.
• Monitor system performance, storage utilization, and application health.
• Apply patches, hotfixes, and version upgrades in coordination with IT and security teams.
• Troubleshoot system issues across servers, integrations, and databases.
Security, Access, and Compliance
• Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, and security groups.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities and enforce secure configurations.
Content & Repository Management
• Oversee document repositories, metadata structures, taxonomies, and retention rules.
• Support content lifecycle management, including archiving and records retention.
• Maintain workflows, forms, and automation components within the OpenText ecosystem.
Integration & Technical Support
• Support integrations between OpenText and enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, case management, etc.).
• Work with developers and vendors to troubleshoot API, workflow, or connector issues.
• Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for business users and resolve escalated incidents.
Backup, Recovery & Disaster Readiness
• Manage backup and restore procedures for OpenText components.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Ensure data integrity and availability across environments.
User Support & Documentation
• Provide training, guidance, and documentation for business users and power users.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration records.
• Assist teams in optimizing their use of OpenText tools and workflows.
Required Skills & Experience
• Hands on experience administering OpenText Content Server or similar ECM platforms.
• Strong understanding of document management, metadata, permissions, and workflow concepts.
• Experience with Windows Server, SQL Server, and enterprise authentication systems.
• Familiarity with APIs, web services, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of security best practices, compliance frameworks, and audit processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, server, and database layers.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with OpenText Extended ECM, Archive Center, or related modules.
• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
• Background in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, insurance, or government.
• Experience supporting large enterprise environments with high availability requirements.
