Business Analyst, Core Banking Systems (Jack Henry SilverLake)
Overview
The Business Analyst will support core banking initiatives by translating operational and system requirements into well-defined user stories and functional documentation. This role requires hands-on experience navigating Jack Henry SilverLake and the ability to identify field-level data elements, workflows, and system dependencies within the core. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly in the system to research functionality and ensure requirements reflect real-world banking operations.
Responsibilities
Partner with operations, lending, deposit, and technology teams to gather business requirements
Navigate Jack Henry SilverLake to identify screen flows, field names, codes, parameters, and data relationships
Enrich user stories with detailed functional context, including acceptance criteria and system impacts
Document end-to-end workflows across deposit, loan, and customer information processes
Analyze current state core configurations and translate findings into actionable requirements
Support backlog refinement and sprint planning by clarifying system behavior and constraints
Collaborate with developers and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of core-related enhancements
Assist in testing efforts by validating system behavior against documented requirements
Qualifications
3 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst in a banking or financial services environment
Hands-on experience working within Jack Henry SilverLake
Strong understanding of core banking concepts including deposits, loans, CIF, and transaction processing
Ability to interpret system screens, configuration settings, and field-level data structures
Experience writing detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria
Strong analytical and documentation skills
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and operational stakeholders
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting core conversions, integrations, or digital banking initiatives
Familiarity with agile methodologies and backlog management tools
Understanding of downstream systems that integrate with Jack Henry, including online banking, loan origination, and reporting platforms
Experience in regulatory-driven change initiatives within a banking environment
